Hegra Performance Stainless 304 (Inox 1.4301)
Stainless steels slides are used on the most demanding of applications where performance in extreme climates is essential. Engineers will specify stainless when all other materials and coating options are inadequate for the purpose. To this point, they are a high cost item.
Hegra Performance Stainless Steel Range of slides is manufactured in Germany from milled and rolled stainless steel sections. The quality of the section is the best available and the bearings are hand fitted to give a slight pre-load with minimal play in the beams. By milling the section and balltracks we are able to offer a very accurate bearing fit which results in a much smoother extension. A poorly fitted slide will suffer with bearing migration and other associated problems.
The beams are machined from 304 (Inox 1.4301) stainless, however any other grade can be specified. They have excellent corrosion properties, so can be used on oil rigs, under-slung train battery boxes and military applications requiring minimal electro-magnetic signature. The bearings, ball cages and stops are all stainless steel. Most of the slides can be fitted with locks in the closed and fully extended positions, plus many fixing options.
Datasheets are available for download on our main site www.gsfslides.com. Our Stainless Steel slides are sold as single units, not a pair. Please allow 5 weeks for all slides in this range, as they are manufactured to order.
